How does DiffBell detect changes?

We fetch the page on your schedule and pull out the visible text, leaving out scripts, styles and markup. Then we compare it to the previous version. If you set a CSS selector, we only look at that part of the page. If you set a keyword, we only ring when that text appears or disappears.

Does it work on pages that need JavaScript?

Yes. If a page comes back mostly empty, DiffBell automatically renders it in a real headless browser. To see exactly what we see, use "Check now" and open "Current page text" in the change history.

Can it watch pages behind a login?

Not yet. We only watch public pages.

How do I get phone notifications?

Install the free ntfy app, subscribe to a hard-to-guess topic name, and choose "ntfy push" as your alert channel with that same topic. Discord and Slack also push to your phone.

Why no password?

Your dashboard has a private link. Bookmark it, or add an email and we'll send the link whenever you ask.

How do I cancel Pro?

Click "Manage billing" on your dashboard and cancel in one click. Your pages stay, and you drop back to the Free limits.
